Where traffic is concerned, it is all sixes sevens. Traffic is growing constantly, and its ecological and social consequences are increasing with it. At the same time, important investments for the upkeep and optimization of the network of streets are not occurring.
It is obvious that something needs to be done. However, various interest groups are expressing goals, wishes, and visions in favor of the further development of traffic which only take chosen aspects into consideration. Therefore, the Research Group “Jetzt & Morgen”, in cooperation with Eberhard Löwenberg (expert for town planning), has attempted to examine the topic above and beyond its individual aspects. The result is a comprehensive suggestion for the organization of the system of roads.
