Sustainable Policy

The Initial Situation:
Living at the expense of the future; acting without an overall concept
In order to maintain its high standard of living, society is living beyond its means at the expense of the future: ecologically, economically, and socially - with global consequences. A short-sighted manner of dealing with problems and systems only increases the difficulties. Individual aspects are taken into account, however, the interrelations remain overlooked. The fatal consequence: problems worsen - sometimes into difficult crises. The concept of sustainability seeks to halt those behavior burdening the future. Many of the previous approaches, however, narrow the topic to the ecological perspective, supplemented if need be with single, isolated points of view.

The book's approach:
Expand the idea of sustainability

This book broadens the idea of sustainability concretely, by combining economical, social, and global aspects into an overall view which takes the behavior of complex systems into account. The result is an integral, further approach with comprehensive principles and a vision for sustainable policy and behavior.
